What this site collects.
Short version: very little, and only what you type in yourself.
No cookies, and nobody is identified
This website sets no cookies. There is no advertising pixel, no social media tracker, and no third-party fonts. Nothing about you is shared with advertisers, and nobody is following you around the internet because you read about Medicare here.
The one exception is if you press play on a video: at that moment the video is loaded from YouTube or Vimeo, and their own terms apply. Nothing is requested from them until you press play.
What is counted, and how
Tessa can see how many people read each page, which link brought them, and how far through the questions people get. That is how she knows what is useful and what is not. It is counted like this:
- Which link brought you. If Tessa shares a link on LinkedIn it ends in
?from=linkedin; the QR code on her cards ends in?from=qr-card. The tag records where the link was posted. It says nothing whatsoever about you. - How many different people visited. To avoid counting the same person twice in a day, a one-way code is made from your network address and browser, mixed with a random value that is thrown away every night. Only a statistical summary is kept — not the codes themselves — so it can say “about forty people” and can never say which forty. Once the nightly value is discarded, the codes cannot be recreated by anyone, including us.
- How far through the questions people get. Counts only: how many started, how many finished, and which question people most often stop on.
No names, email addresses or IP addresses are stored against any of this, none of it is shared with anyone, and all of it is deleted after 45 days.
If you would rather not be counted at all: turn on “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control in your browser and this site will record nothing about your visit. The site behaves exactly the same either way.
What the contact form collects
When you send a request, the form collects:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- The topics you ticked
- How you'd prefer to be contacted
- Anything you chose to write in the message box
That is all. It is sent by email to Tessa so she can reply to you. It is used to answer your enquiry and to help you with your insurance — not for anything else, and it is not sold to anyone.
The guided questions on the service pages
Some pages let you work through a few multiple-choice questions. Choosing answers does nothing at all on its own — nothing is recorded, and you can read the whole page and answer every question without anything leaving your browser.
Only if you fill in your name and email at the end and press send does anything happen. Then it collects:
- Your name and email address, and your phone number if you gave one
- Which page's questions you answered
- The answers you picked
That is emailed to Tessa so she has read it before you speak. Separately, a simple count is kept of how many people answered questions on each page each day — a number only, with nothing attached to it that could identify anybody.
The questions are deliberately written to ask what you would like explained, never what is true of your health.
Please don't send health information
The form deliberately doesn't ask for medical conditions, medications, diagnoses or health history, and we'd ask you not to put any of that in the message box. If it turns out to be relevant to your coverage, Tessa will go through it with you properly and securely when you speak.
Booking
If you book an appointment, that booking is handled by Google Calendar's appointment scheduling, and Google's own privacy terms apply to what you enter there.
Keeping it, and getting rid of it
Enquiries are kept in Tessa's email and her records for as long as she needs them to look after you as a client, and to meet the record-keeping requirements that apply to licensed insurance agents. If you'd like your enquiry deleted, email insurance@tessacrider.com and ask — she'll do it wherever she's not required to keep it.
